Joseph S. Nye, Jr. (Harvard Kennedy School) joined the Center for the Study of Economy & Society (CSES) at Cornell University on November 1, 2021 for the second lecture in “The American State in a Multipolar World” lecture series. The series features distinguished scholars and public intellectuals, including Francis Fukuyama, Joseph Nye, Jeffrey D. Sachs, and Andrew J. Bacevich, discussing the issues and choices facing the American state in a multipolar global economy and shifting world system.

On October 18, 2021, Professor Francis Fukuyama gave a lecture at the Center for the Study of the Economy and Society for the lecture series The American State in a Multipolar world. His topic was Covid-19, Climate, and the Coming Challenges to Global Democracy.
